A Hippy at Heart

While relaxing at the end of each yoga class I always seem to conjure up my dream home! Whether it’s my mind in a “zen” like state or the sounds of Gurrumul in the background I find myself dreaming of big decks, wind chimes, incense, record players, throw rugs & pillows, a big wooden dining table, wine cellar, open fire & a vege patch. All of this would be situated in the Byron hinterland, close to where my husband & both grew up. I don’t think I am asking too much am I? J

I always leave thinking to myself, right that’s it, pack the house up Evan, where moving to the country!

While I love all that city living offers; bars, restaurants, music, art, festivals....I'm honestly a bit of a hippy at heart & I look forward to living the simple life x

Milk with one sugar please….

A simple cup of tea can bring so much pleasure to your day; well that’s how I feel anyway!

Whether it’s a blend of lemongrass & ginger, a pot of brewed chai, a relaxing jasmine, modern liquorice, a cleansing green or a classic English breakfast a cup can certainly turn a gloomy day into one of beauty.

To be enjoyed day or night, in a dainty cup or generous mug, with friends or a private moment on your own; what’s not to love!!

Do you have a favourite blend or taste? How do you take yours?

Snapshots

Lately have I have neglected my little, expensive, darling digital camera in favour of my Iphone camera. Feeling a little guilty about that, but I love being able to take a quick snapshot while I am out & about and because my Iphone doesn’t leave my side (my husband refers to it as the 4th member of our family) it comes in very handy for just that.

Yes, I admit some of the below have been helped along by one of the many photography apps I have, but I still hope you enjoy looking over some of my faves!

Winter Nights

Melbournians and I think most of Australia have felt the sharp coolness of Winter over the last couple of weeks and yes, I admit at times it can be little uncomfortable…. However, it got me thinking about the beauty we can see & experience in all seasons, even the ones that can make us squirm a little :)

Open fireplaces, warm blankets, home cooked meals, red wine, snuggling up with a loved one, coffee, feeling the cool air on your nose… all of these things bring a huge smile to my face!

So, while I am looking forward to the warmer Spring air around the corner, for now I am happy to sit back and take in all that Winter has to offer!
